The problem and our mission
Problem: The music industry is a notoriously tough place to exist. Despite producing high quality music, many artists struggle to find the support, information and funding needed to sustain a successful long term career.
Mission: The Silhouettes Project addresses these issues though creative collaboration. As a community of artists we are more powerful. We're building an alternative industry, nurturing diverse communities of independent artists who support each other, share knowledge, and gain collective experience.
What we do
We have been actively supporting grassroots artists providing alternative infrastructure for their work since 2019.
Collaborative Albums
We coordinate and fund a collaborative album project where we bring together a diverse group of artists and producers. The album has helped launch the careers of artists in our local community as well as achieving national and international recognition.
Live monthly residencies
We've created an inclusive and supportive space for artists and musicians to come together and perform with our very own house band, to showcase their music in a collective way. This also allows fans to gain access to new and emerging artists before they reach the mainstream.
Festival performances and headline shows
We organise and fund live performances both domestically and internationally, showcasing the artists we have been working with helping grow their fan base and reach a bigger audience.
Studio access
Through our non-profit label Root 73, we provide our community of artists access to our professional recording studio free of charge, supporting artists' development while keeping the financial burden to a minimum.
The Albums
We've brought together 35 artists to work on TSP Vol. 1, and the project helped launch the careers of many artists involved. The project included ENNY, Lex Amor, Bel Cobain, and many more.
Vol 1 has streamed for than 50m times to date, an amazing achievement considering the project was created with no financial backing.
The album helped us build a following of more than 50k followers across all platforms.
TSP Vol 2 was released in February 2024, and features heavyweight artists such as Kojey Radical, Jords, and Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, as well as our own resident artists.
We are releasing the project through our non-profit label Root 73, in partnership with the Orchard.
The Live Shows
We receive regular bookings across the UK and internationally, performing to crowds of over 3000 people.
Previous shows include: Glastonbury Festival, Tate Modern, X The Tracks, Jazz Café, Hackney Church, We Out Here, and Banlieue Bleus festivals to name a few.
We went on tour in March 2024 covering 6 cities in Europe and 6 cities in the UK, ending with a headline show at London's KOKO (1500 Cap).
